Women Orchestra
el Majesta, Tokyo
Since 2015 / Tokyo, Japan
Japan's all-female live music ensemble
Live music, closer than ever. One hundred female musicians who come to you — from a single violin to a full orchestra.
About us
Solving social problems through music.
"That was the first time I ever heard live music." A comment from a street performance in high school revealed how rare live music still is in everyday Japanese life. At the same time, our founder watched talented female musicians lose their place in the profession after marriage and childbirth. Women Orchestra was founded in 2015 to address both.
Giving children a future worth dreaming of. We deliver high-quality music experiences, primarily at children's homes across Japan.
Building a future where women musicians thrive. Of our 100 registered musicians, 48 are mothers raising children.
Carrying Japanese culture to the world. We perform in kimono-inspired dresses and present our original suite, KAGUYA.
Stage & Moments
Carnegie Hall. Suntory Hall. The Tokyo International Film Festival.
From hotel ballrooms and corporate ceremonies to the halls of children's homes.
